Join us in supporting our community!

With your support in 2026, more than 4,000 students can explore, learn, and connect with the Walker Basin each year. From classrooms to field experiences, you help remove barriers and create meaningful opportunities for every child. Together, we are building a deeper connection between young people and the future of this landscape.

Want to support our Environmental Education Program?

Donate to our Program

Your donation helps keep our Environmental Education programs free and accessible for teachers and youth groups across the Walker Basin. Because of generous supporters like you, in addition to FREE in-class programming, we are able to offer transportation scholarships, helping cover bus and travel costs at no expense to the school.

Every gift helps remove barriers, expand access to nature, and keep environmental education open to all.

Join our Volunteer Program

Join us in opening the door to discovery right outside the classroom!

As a volunteer, you’ll help facilitate safe, educational, and engaging activities including in-class presentations and field trips all while creating a space for students to ask questions and build a deeper connection with their environment. You’ll play a key role in fostering curiosity, confidence, and a sense of stewardship by encouraging hands-on exploration and meaningful time in the nature right in their own backyard.

Prior teaching experience is encouraged but not mandatory, just a passion for the outdoors, a willingness to learn, and excitement about helping young people see their everyday surroundings in a whole new way. For inquiries, please contact our Environmental Education Coordinator, Tailar Purciel at tailar.purciel@walkerbasin.org.
